I’m absolutely thrilled to share my first fabric collection for Windham Fabrics—*TIDAL LACE*! I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of this collection, especially since it pairs beautifully with the elegant Oliver + S patterns we used to create our lookbook pieces.
The inspiration for *TIDAL LACE* stems from two distinct memories from my life. First, I remember spending countless hours as a child in my grandmother’s ballet shop, mesmerized by the intricate trims and laces she kept. These patterns and details have stayed with me ever since. Second, during a family trip to a picturesque coastal town, I woke up early one morning to explore tide pools during low tide. It was magical—discovering hidden treasures in each pool, surrounded by family and friends.
*TIDAL LACE* is my way of blending these two inspirations—lace and tide pools—into a vibrant, playful, and detailed collection. I wanted the fabrics to reflect the beauty and energy of both elements.

We paired the fabrics with some of my favorite Oliver + S patterns to showcase their versatility. For example, the *Puppet Show Shorts* feature adorable gathered pockets, and they look fantastic paired with the *Badminton Top*. The shoulder ruffles on the Badminton Top are simply divine—I can’t get enough of them!
Another standout piece is the *Pinwheel Slip Dress*. Its playful flounce adds a touch of whimsy, while the *Roller Skate Dress* strikes the perfect balance between fun and sophistication. (Liesl, if you’re listening, I’d love one of these in adult sizes!)
And don’t forget the *Reversible Bucket Hats*! They’re not only stylish but incredibly practical. I found myself making one after another because they’re so enjoyable to work with—and the kids absolutely adore wearing them.

What makes *TIDAL LACE* truly special is its attention to detail. The collection features intricate novelties and geometric prints, all in a color palette designed to make your sewing projects pop. From delicate lace motifs to ocean-inspired patterns, every fabric tells a story of joy and enchantment.
This collection will be available at your local fabric store in January 2015. In the meantime, we’re hosting a giveaway!
