introducing the kensington knit skirt sewing pattern

Many of you have expressed your love for our Everyday Skirt pattern. It’s a versatile piece that's both easy to sew and comfortable to wear, making it an essential addition to any wardrobe. Whether you're dressing it up or down, it’s a go-to option for countless occasions. Today, I’m thrilled to introduce you to its knit counterpart, the Kensington Knit Skirt, which comes in sizes 0-20 and 16-30! Designed specifically for stretchy fabrics, this pattern is not only quick to sew but also incredibly easy to put together. Here’s a sneak peek of what it looks like: ![Kensington Knit Skirt](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/78d76b7560dbf3ae47f8e28cbfb250a9.jpg) This pattern is made to be sewn using a standard sewing machine, so there’s no need to feel intimidated by working with knits anymore! You can easily handle this project with just a straight stitch. If you happen to own a serger, you can certainly use it in certain areas, but most of the skirt will look best with a regular straight stitch. Unfortunately, due to current circumstances, we couldn't arrange for models to showcase the skirt in action. But to give you a better idea of how it works, here's a quick video demonstration, similar to what I've shared for our other patterns this season: The basic version of the skirt (View A) consists of just two pieces: the yoke and the skirt itself. The yoke fabric is doubled to provide a bit of compression for a sleek silhouette, and there’s even a hidden elastic band inside to ensure a perfect fit. At first glance, it might seem simple, but this skirt is surprisingly versatile and can be styled for everything from casual outings to more formal events. Take a closer look at View A below: ![Basic Kensington Skirt](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/908ff805666b9b0682ee7fefe17d4f15.jpg) And another angle: ![Another Angle of View A](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/6bb59e6d2ecc3f583b8691fc4b294999.jpg) Now, let’s talk about View B. This version includes two additional pieces to create pleats and ties in the front. While it may look like a wrap or sarong at first glance, it offers the comfort and security of a traditional skirt underneath. No more worrying about accidental openings while sitting or walking!
