Based in Nanhai, Guangdong, his company, Maple Lingerie, has become a powerhouse in the industry, known for its quality products and strong brand presence. Recently, the company celebrated a major milestone: moving over 1,000 workers into a brand-new factory, marking a new chapter in its expansion. At the beginning of the year, on January 4th, the company held a grand ceremony filled with gongs and drums, as thousands of employees and hundreds of agents from across the country gathered to celebrate the launch of a new business peak under Du Chengping’s leadership. The event was not just a celebration of growth but also a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. Fenglin Underwear, founded in March 2000, began as a small operation with just a few hundred employees. Today, it has grown to employ thousands, with a new plant built to support its expanding operations. This success is attributed to the leadership of Du Chengping and the collective effort of the entire team. "This is a new beginning," said Du Chengping excitedly during the 2010 spring/summer lingerie press conference. He announced plans to launch the fourth brand of the company, further solidifying their position in the market. After days of rain, the warm winter sun brought a sense of optimism, and as the "Godfather of Underwear," Du shared stories of his journey and passion for the industry. With over 17 years of experience in the underwear sector, Du Chengping is the first in China to advocate for the concept of "health-focused underwear." His company now boasts a disciplined management team and a diverse group of professionals. This year marks the third year of brand promotion, with the launch of a high-end brand planned for the second half of the year. Yanbu has become more than just a workplace for Du—it has become his second home. Spending over 300 days a year at the factory, he has developed a deep connection with the city and its people. Born in Sichuan, Du faced financial difficulties early in life, which forced him to leave school after junior high. Despite this, his passion for learning never faded. "My biggest dream in life was to attend a prestigious university and become a Chinese educator," he recalls. But fate had other plans. His entry into the underwear industry was purely by chance. Without technical skills, he started at the lowest level, working as a production worker. However, his eagerness to learn quickly led him to transition into the core technical team within a week. "I've done every aspect of the business—from manufacturing processes to sales, from junior managers to leading a company with thousands of employees," Du proudly states. In 2001, he founded Fenglin Underwear, and since then, he has dedicated 17 years to the industry, never losing his passion or drive. Today, his company is a well-known integrated enterprise specializing in research, development, production, and sales. It spans over 18,000 square meters of production space, with 4,600 square meters of office area, employing thousands of people. The company operates under multiple brands, including "Feng Lin," "Ai Dai," and "Lan Yue Er," offering a wide range of products such as decorative underwear, functional health underwear, body-shaping wear, loungewear, thermal wear, and far-infrared health products. "Our materials and technology are top-notch," Du says with pride. While they do produce OEMs, what sets them apart is their own brand, sales team, and loyal customer base. Their commitment to quality and innovation has earned them recognition, including the title of "China's Famous Brand" in 2003 and "AAA+ Credit and Credit Enterprise Certification" in 2004. Through hard work, vision, and relentless pursuit of excellence, Du Chengping has not only built a successful business but also redefined what it means to be a leader in the underwear industry.
